For example , in America , the bridegroom cannot see the style of the bride’s wedding dress before their wedding starts . Therefore , the girls who are going to get married tend to ask their sisters or best female friends to select the wedding dress together . As a result , the pre-wedding photographies are usually photoed in the wedding scene . Moreover , in their traditional weddings , the veil wore on the bride’s head can only be opened by the bridegroom after the minister declares the two persons become legal and formal couple and after they exchanged their rings .

In the past , the bride who got married for the first time colud put the veil , on the contrary , the brides who had married before married again had no right to put the veil . However , nowadays , many people are not very clear about that custom belonging to the past .

Today people tend to choose what they like regardless of the old rules . Putting the veil no matter whether you have had married before , bride and bridegroom select the wedding dress together no matter whether the minister allows , in contemperary society , people seem to stay in a more lenient enviornment to choose the things they really like such as wedding dresses .

The history of the wedding dress is not short , wedding dress may be one part of the different cultures , from the wedding dress knowledge , we can learn many different people’s lives and values , I think wedding dress is not just one style of the clothes , it also has profound and lasting significance for human’s development .
